Gridiron IdleDownload

Your first ten minutes in Gridiron Idle.

The one rule: find what is holding your offense back and buy that. Idle players and footballs piling up in one spot are the clues; each shop card tells you what it would add right now.

Roster cards in Gridiron Idle: game ball, running back and ball boy, with their prices

The opening drive

Seven steps from the backyard.

  1. Sign your first running back. He is free. He fetches a ball, carries it 40 yards and scores.
  2. Add backs and footballs. A few more backs and a second game ball get more touchdowns going early on.
  3. Balls stuck in the end zone? Hire a ball boy. He throws dead balls back to the line so they can be used again.
  4. Backs waiting at the line? Hire a center. Centers fetch and snap balls into play, so backs stop walking for them.
  5. Buy Hurry-Up. Your first play: every snap comes 20% sooner.
  6. Use the two-minute drill when the field is busy. It speeds up everything that is already moving.
  7. At High School, add the passing game. One quarterback and a few wide receivers open a second way to score.

Tips

Things the game won't shout about.

  • Read the number on each card. It is what that hire adds right now, not in theory. The biggest number is usually your weak link.
  • Don't stack one role. Prices climb with each hire of the same kind, and a chain is only as fast as its slowest link.
  • Tap runners. Tap a runner: 1.5x speed for 2 seconds, then a 4-second cooldown.
  • Watch for the golden football. Appears every 45 to 120 seconds and stays for 7. Catch it for a cash bonus worth 30 seconds of income, or an extra ball for a minute.
  • Check the Playbook often. A badge shows when a play is ready to buy.
  • Boosts are optional. The pop drill, ball bag and new-pitch bonus are there when you want them; you never need them. How ads work.

FAQ

Common questions

How do you play Gridiron Idle?

Sign your free running back, then spend the cash from each touchdown on more players and footballs. Watch the field: whatever is idle or piling up tells you what to buy next. Add plays from the Playbook as they unlock, and climb the ten levels.

Why are my running backs standing still?

They have no ball to carry. Either every football is lying in the end zone waiting to come back (hire a ball boy), or balls are not being snapped fast enough (hire a center), or you simply need more footballs (buy a game ball). The shop cards show which one adds the most right now.

What should I buy first in Gridiron Idle?

A few running backs and a second game ball, then a ball boy as soon as balls start sitting in the end zone, then a center when backs wait for snaps. Buy Hurry-Up as soon as you can afford it: every snap comes 20% sooner.

How does the two-minute drill work?

Two minutes of snaps twice as fast and everyone 1.5x faster. Hold up to 3 charges; Game Days hand them out. You can also watch an optional ad for a stronger hurry-up drill: snaps three times as fast and everyone twice as fast.

What does the golden football do?

Appears every 45 to 120 seconds and stays for 7. Catch it for a cash bonus worth 30 seconds of income, or an extra ball for a minute.

The game ball card says FULL. What now?

The field has a limit on how many balls it can hold. Raise it with Ball Rotation in the Playbook (+8 slots) or the Ball capacity upgrade in Training & Equipment.

How do I earn more cash per touchdown?

Move up levels (each early level multiplies the pay per score), buy Home-Field Advantage (+25%), win championships (each ring +2%), and use Script the First 15, which triples the cash from the first 15 scores each time you play.
